Jimmy Wilson Cole, age 80, of Whitesburg, Georgia passed away on Sunday morning, January 10, 2016 at Tanner Medical Center Carrollton. He was born August 17, 1935 in Carroll County, Georgia, the son of the late James Noah Cole and the late Rebecca Irene Wilson Cole. He was a United States Army Veteran; was retired from Lockheed Aircraft with thirty-eight years of service; and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church in Banning. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Cole. Survivors include his wife, Lynda Davenport Cole of Whitesburg; son, Blakely Ward Davenport, also of Whitesburg; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry & Patricia Cole of Blythe, Georgia; three grandchildren: Brandi Sudduth and her husband, Tyler, of Temple, Rachel Davenport and Eric Davenport, both of Carrollton; and great grandson, Cole Sudduth of Temple. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Jerry Cole and Rev. John Powers officiating. Those serving as pallbearers will be John Cole, Timothy Cole, Daniel Cole, Mark Cole, Jamie Cole, and Cooper Cole. Interment will follow in Cross Plains Baptist Church Cemetery with the American Legion Post #143 presenting military honors.
