Barbara Karr (formerly of Kansas City and Blue Springs,) died on Sunday, January 3, 2016 after suffering a stroke. Barbara was the wife of Jack L. Karr. The couple celebrated 53 years of marriage in November of last year.

Barbara was born September 4, 1939 in Wyandotte County, KS. She was the oldest daughter of Ed and Naomi Bellman. Barbara was the loving mother of Fred Karr and Kelly (Karr) Basquette, and the adoring grandmother of Kari (Basquette) Andreev and Abigail Karr.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Richard, and her sister Patricia. She is survived by her husband Jack, their two children and two granddaughters, and her brothers Tom Bellman and Charlie Bellman, and her sisters-in-law, Patricia, Maria, and Karen.

Barbara loved reading, daisies, car trips with Jack, and doting on her granddaughters.

A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held 5 – 7:00 pm, Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W. Main St., Blue Springs, MO, 816-229-3276. Inurnment will be at Floral Hills Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke’s Foundation, 4225 Baltimore Ave., Kansas City, MO 64111.
