UNION - Horace A. Stalnaker, 86, of 221 Mount Tabor Church Road died Sept. 1, 1999, in Wallace Thomson Hospital.
A native of Atlanta, he was son of the late George A. and Josie Whitman Stalnaker. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lockhart, where he had taught Sunday school for several years. He also was a member of Lockhart Masonic Lodge No. 244 and the Chester Circling Squares. He retired from Milliken Co. Lockhart Plant and Cone Mill - Carlisle Finishing Plant.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Grant Stalnaker; two daughters, Bobbie Revis of Union and Hilda Hefner of Lockhart; a son, Brian A. Stalnaker of Union; a sister, Pearl S. Meggs of Lockhart; two brothers, Joe Harvey Stalnaker and Richard "Dick" Stalnaker, both of Union; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Lockhart First Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Calvin Smith and John Mullis. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.
The family is at the home.
