Helen Berniece McClure Abee, 79, of Valdese, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, January 8, 2016, at Carolina's Medical Center.
Helen was born on March 18, 1936, in Ashe County, to the late Willie E. and Minnie Lou Eller McClure.
She was a faithful member of Abee's Grove Baptist Church. She loved her church and her pastor very much.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Clarence H. Abee; two brothers, James Alonzo McClure and William Dalford McClure; and two sisters, Bertha Lee Woody and Rozina Hodges.
Survivors include her four sisters, Wanda Mae Cooper of Galax, VA, Joann Favori of Mansfield, OH, Nell Marie Karriker and husband Jerry of Gastonia, and Norma Leona Moon and husband Thomas of Iron Station; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Abee's Grove Baptist Church, with Pastor Rudy Hayes officiating. Interment will follow at Abee's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
