Biography

Edna Irene Robertson, 97, passed away peacefully with her family beside her on Saturday, January 9, 2016. She was born July 9, 1918 to Grover and Margaret Tadpole. She married Jess Hugh Robertson on December 15, 1934.

Edna is preceded in death by her husband, Jess; one son, Donald Hugh Robertson; one daughter, Shirley Ann Hogue and her husband, Jerry; two brothers; three sisters, her mother and father; and a special cousin and friend, Lucinda Gaither.

She is survived by her son, Douglas Robertson and wife, Joyce of Porter, OK; daughter-in-law, Linda Robertson of Porter, OK; brother Myrle “Mutt” Tadpole; grandchildren, Dwight Hogue, Mark Hogue and wife, Virgil Hogue and wife, all of Oklahoma City, OK, Charles Robertson and wife, Sheila McCollough and husband of Porter, OK, Tammy Beshlin and husband of North Carolina, Amy Ayala and husband of Florida and Tish Conley and husband of Porter, OK; twelve great-grandchildren; and eleven great great-grandchildren.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother; Edna worked at Teel’s Laundry early on, and later was a cook for many years at the Porter Schools before retiring. She was a fabulous cook and loved to feed her family. She enjoyed knitting, ceramics and painting. She loved supplying her family with lots of pecans over the years.

The family will be present for a Visitation on Monday evening from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the United Methodist Church in Porter, OK. The Reverend Paul Vickery will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Porter, OK.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to the United Methodist Church, Porter, OK.
