Glenn Dale Jividen

Glenn Dale "Zeke" Jividen, 84, of Nitro, passed away Friday, September 8, 2006, at home following a long illness.

He was a former employee of Union Carbide's Institute Plant with over 40 years of service. His co-workers knew him by the nickname "Zeke". He was also known as the "Voice of Carbide" for his duty as the plant announcer. Born November 21, 1921, he was the son of the late Cecil and Rachel Tucker Jividen.

He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Bertha Stover Jividen; sister, Gaynell Jividen; an infant brother; and brothers, Glair and Gerald Jividen.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Riffle Jividen; sons, Darrell of Cross Lanes, and Glenn Joe and wife Linda of St. Albans; daughter, Carolyn Miller and husband Charles of Barboursville; stepsons, Otis Riffle and wife Sandy of Bancroft, and Clark Riffle and wife Missy of Buffalo; grandchildren, Teresa and Nick Carney of Calhoun, Ga., Charles Dwayne and Dianne Miller of Baltimore, Ohio, Paul and Connie Miller of Barboursville, Jennifer Jividen of St. Albans, and Aaron Jividen of St. Albans; step-grandchildren, Beth Ann Riffle of Nitro, Travis Riffle of Nitro, Andrew Riffle of Buffalo, Cody Wolfe of Buffalo, Frankie Wolfe of Buffalo, Gary Riffle of Bancroft, and Cristie Riffle Kelly of Teays Valley; great-grandchildren, Ashley Miller of Fairfield, Vt., Avery Miller of Baltimore, Ohio, Adrienne Miller of Baltimore, Ohio, Tara and Anthony Lawhorn of Huntington, Bradley Midkiff of Barboursville, and Luke Carney of Calhoun, Ga.

The service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, September 11, 2006, at Raynes Funeral Home, Buffalo, with Pastor Roy Painter officiating. Burial will follow at Walker Chapel Cemetery, Robertsburg.
