Robert Lee Campbell, 73, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016 at his home with family at his side. Born March 21, 1942 in Washington, DC he was a son of the late Charles Howard and Virginia Hunt Campbell.
In addition to his parents he was also predeceased by his sisters, Julia Vaden, Edna Campbell, and Mary Prittchett; brothers, Charlie Campbell, Clay Campbell, and Dan Campbell; and nephew, Pete Campbell.
Robert is survived by his loving wife Claudia Cox Campbell; daughter, Kimberley Meadows and her husband Davis; son, Ronnie Powell and his wife Sonya; stepchildren, Marie, Keith, Lee, and Larry; grandchildren, Amanda Richardson and her husband Michael, Brant Gayhart and his wife Britney, and Joyce Meadows and her fiancé Michael Rider; three great grandchildren; and special nieces, Anita Spencer, Judy Tilman, Carolyn Martin, and Lila Shifflett.
Robert was newly retired after 21 years of service at the BP service station on Pantops. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends. He was admired through his lifetime for always placing others before himself, even though his illness.
A graveside service will be conducted Monday, January 11, 2016 at Holly Memorial Gardens by Pastor Ronnie Sipes.
