Anne Stillwell was the twin daughter (Mary) born of Joseph & Sarah (Shepherd) Stillwell.
Anne was the great, great, granddaughter of Nicholas Stillwell, who emigrated to America in 1638, and settled at Gravesend, Long Island, in that year and died on Staten Island Dec. 28, 1671.
She was also the great, great, grand-daughter of John Throckmorton, who came over with Roger Williams in the good ship Lyon in 1631, and also of John Stout who emigrated about the same time.
Anne grew up in Middletown, New Jersey where she met her future husband, David.
On 22 Feb 1762 Anne married the ardent patriot Rev David Jones.
Anne and David had 8 children.
