Sharon Elaine Sweeney (ne Harrer) passed away Sept. 6, 2013, suddenly but peacefully at her home.

Sharon was born March 19, 1956, in Winnemucca to William and Mabel Harrer. Sharon was the second of three children. She spent her childhood growing up partly in Winnemucca, then in Princeton, Mo., and finishing high school in Buhl, Idaho, in 1974.

After high school, Sharon attended business school in Boise, Idaho, for a brief period of time.

In 1976, Sharon married Michael Sweeney, who was a childhood friend of her older brother. Later the same year the couple had a daughter, Megan.

In 1992, Sharon would have and lose another daughter.

Sharon had many hobbies that she enjoyed throughout the years of her life. Some of the hobbies include cross-stitch, embroidery and crocheting. Sharon was also an avid genealogist. She would be thrilled when she found any new information that stretched out a branch of her family tree. Through her research, she was able to locate and communicate in person or over the Internet with family members in Germany and England.

Sharon had four grandchildren who were her pride and joy. In her eyes, they could do no wrong. Sharon was a fantastic wife, mother, daughter and grandmother. She will be missed by everyone she knew.

Sharon is survived in death by her husband, Michael Sweeney, daughter Megan Parry (Ricky), mother Mabel Harrer, brother William Harrer, brother Phil Harrer, granddaughter Desiree Parry (Dusty), granddaughter Bethany Nichols, grandson Gavin Parry, grandson Ashton Parry, and one great-grandson Draven Morris. She is also leaving behind numerous additional family members and friends.

Sharon is preceded in death by her father William Harrer, grandfather Philip Voltaire, grandmother Mable Voltaire and daughter Caitlen Sweeney.

Funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 13, at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church.
