Shawnee resident Leon Casey, 86, died Saturday, Sept. 2, at a local hospital from natural causes.
He was born Aug. 5, 1920, in Shawnee to Jesse C. Casey and Maude (Paulk) Casey.

He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1939. He later married Verda Jewel (Ward) Feb. 28, 1948, in Sulphur.

He was a fireman and engineer for Rock Island Railroad. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, Masons and Wallace Avenue Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two sisters.

Survivors include daughters, Janet Kay Doze of Liberal, Kan., and Sharon Ann Autrey of Shawnee; grandchildren, Casey Tookolo and Jason Tookolo; three great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.

Service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Resthaven Funeral Chapel with Pastor Scott Gordon and Pastor Dewayne Colvin officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation is 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today.

Service is under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
