Peter Henry, son of Charles S. and Anna S. (Clausen) Schafer was born September 10, 1907 at Dexter, Iowa and passed away peacefully on March 26, 1995 at his home.

His education was received in country school and Dexter public school.

Peter was a lifelong resident of Dexter where he farmed.

On February 2, 1941 he was united in marriage to Pearl L. Dahl of Dexter and three children were born to this union.

Peter was a lifetime member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Dexter, where he was baptized and confirmed. He held the offices of secretary, elder and trustee at the church.

His parents, two sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife Pearl; two daughters, Shirley Gough of Greensboro, North Carolina and Sherry Schafer of Spokane, Washington; and one son, Eugene of Dexter; five grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Peter enjoyed the fellowship of many close friends.
