She retired from the Navy Childcare Center. She was a member of the Senior Citizens of
Millington where she entertained with her singing and guitar playing. She loved life
to the fullest and had the kindest heart. She loved to work in her flower garden and
loved historic events and was an avid reader. She was preceded in death by her
beloved husband of 65 years, John Thomas Ray. She is survived by her children, Susan
Mewborn, Johnny R. Ray, and Pam Binger; sisters, Lucille and Ruth; brothers, Wilbur
and Grover; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren. The family will receive
friends at a catered reception Sunday (Jan 10) from 2:00 pm until the memorial service
at 3:00 pm at the Millington Chapel. Memorials may be made to Slocum Cemetery of
