He took the oath of Allegiance 5/30/1778, and belonged to the Associated Militia of the Revolutionary War, as a private in Capt. David Knause's Company, being the fourth Company of the 2nd Battalion of Lancaster County, PA. Militia, 1781-1782, Thos. Edwards, Lieut. Colonel. Vol. 13, Page 418, Second Series, and Vol 7, Page 153-157, Fifth Series Pennsylvania Archives. See original Muster Roll now on file in the Division of Public Records, Penna State Library, Harrisburg, PA. By occupation, he was a farmer. He married 10/4/1780 Christine Webber, a native of Lebanon County, PA. About the year 1800, he and his family moved to Centre County, PA and engaged in farming and lived there until his death which occurred 8/3/1820. He and his wife were members of the Reformed Church. They are buried at Rebersburg, PA. Descendants are eligible to membership in the Societies of the Sons and Daughters of the American Revolution. Had 6 children.
