John S. Smith, aged 51 years, died at noon Friday at his home over the Word of God chapel in the Trust company alley, between Buffalo and Liberty streets. The deceased had been suffering from pneumonia for two weeks, through it is stated that the immediate cause of his death was heart trouble. The deceased had been a resident of Franklin for 12 or 15 years. He was a shoemaker by trade. He had been a hopeless cripple for many years, but he worked industriously at his trade and was able to support his wife and three children, who survive.
