Kathryn Eloise Core Wrathall, passed away July 25, 1991 at Denton Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Battlecreek, Michigan on October 2, 1902; daughter of William Fifield Core and Nancy Faudrea Core. She was married to Fredric William Wrathall, October 8, 1924 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Educated in Salt Lake City Public Schools, graduated from University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah. Taught kindergarten and first grade for many years, Granite School District, Salt Lake County, Utah. Member of the First Methodist Church, Salt Lake City and later Community Church, Magna, Utah; both of which she served as Sunday School teacher and active member. Recipient of Thanks Badge, awarded by Salt Lake Council of Girl Scouts for outstanding volunteer efforts as organizer and leader. Life member of Parent Teacher Association. Member of National Education Association. Life member Adah Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, Magna, Utah, which she served as Worthy Matron and long-time secretary. After her retirement she continued her service to children by working for many years with handicapped and retarded children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fredric and two of her children, a son, Charles Fredric Wrathall and daughter, Kathryn Elizabeth Wrathall Wighton.

She is survived by two sons, Robert William Wrathall, Salt Lake City; and Richard Arthur Wrathall, Palos Verde Estates, California; one daughter, Marian Hamilton, Denton, Texas; five grandchildren, Edmond Scott Hamilton, Austin, Texas; Perri Collette Hamilton, Denton, Texas; Deena Kathryn Hamilton, Austin, Texas; Susan Wrathall, Salt Lake City; Holly Hanly, Prescott, Arizona; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held at a later date in Salt Lake City, Utah. Interment will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Salt Lake City. The family suggests that those wishing to make memorial donations may honor her memory and her life-long commitment to teaching children to read by donating children's books, in her name, to their library of choice or The Phoenix Tenant Library, 308 South Ruddell, Denton, Texas, 76205.
