EAST LIVERPOOL-Jo Ann Hudson of Broadway in Wellsville passed on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016 at UPMC Mercy in Pittsburgh where she was flown by medical helicopter after becoming suddenly ill at her home.
She was a daughter of Richard Merriman of East Liverpool and the late Erla Wollam Merriman and she was born in East Liverpool on Feb. 19, 1960.
A hair stylist and beautician, she worked at Famous Hair in Calcutta for the past 21 years.
Jo Ann was raised in the St. John's Lutheran Church in East Liverpool where her parents were very active members and she remained a faithful member.
A 1978 graduate of East Liverpool High School, she lived for her grandchildren. They will always remember their meme by the beautiful quilts that she made for them. Jo Ann had a wonderful and benevolent heart and frequently traveled to the area nursing homes, cutting and styling hair for the residents, making their day a little brighter.
Her husband, whom she married on Aug. 29, 1978, Lance Hudson survives at home.
Deeply saddened by her loss are her children; Jessica Bragg, Christina Hudson, and Lindsey Hudson, all of East Liverpool; her sister's, Theresa James and Sallie Mott, also of East Liverpool; and her special grandchildren, Anna, Lily, Hudson, Eden, and Parker.
