Mildred M. Grant, 91, New Castle resident, passed away Wed., Jan. 6,2016 in Ball Hospital in Muncie.
She was born May 27,1924 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Chester and Callie (Kirby) Batchfield. She was a resident of New Castle most of her life and was retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber Co., in Noblesville, IN after over 30 years of service.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was a former member of the New Castle Senior Center. She enjoyed family activities, nature and outdoors. She was a homemaker.
Left to cherish her memory: one son, Jerry Grant of New Castle; Grandchildren: Ben (Liz) Grant and Michael G. Grant all of New Castle; Karole (Dennis) Trump of Bedford, IN, James Stanford Grant II of New Castle; Larry Gene (Amy) Grant of Lapel, IN; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Oscar Henry Grant; one son James Stanford Grant; one brother Carl Batchfield; one sister, infant May Batchfield.
Visitation 12-1 p.m. Sat., Macer-Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Funeral to follow at 1 p.m. with burial in South Mound Cemetery.
