BONDSMEN HAD TO PAY.
And Ask Court to Look Into Affairs of Aug. Schwanke, Deceased.
Alleging that he has been called upon as bondsman of the late Aug Schwanke, treasurer of the town of Rockland, to make good a $600 shortage in Schwanke's accounts, Albert Schwanke secured an order Thursday summoning Mrs. Aug. Schwanke, widow of the dead treasurer to appear in probate court for examination as to property of the dead man. Mrs. Schwanke testified that aside from $8.60 in personal property, her husband had left nothing, four notes which he held at the time of his death belonging to the town. The case was adjourned for one week for further hearing.
