Richard L. Kirchner, 74, of Camdenton, MO, formerly of Des Moines, passed away November 2, 2012. Richard was born October 10, 1938, in Des Moines. The son of the late Frederick W. and Dorothy W. Clark Kirchner. On April 11, 1959 he was united in marriage to Shirley A Dau, who survives him.

Richard became a Des Moines Firefighter in 1970 and retired in 1996. He enjoyed living at the Lake of the Ozarks, for the past 15 years. In addition to his wife Shirley, he is survived by his daughter, Kim Six (Dennis); his two granddaughters, Amanda Kiefer (Tony). Victoria Foster (Patrick); three great-grandchildren, Will, Wyatt and Ella. His half sister Barbara Richardson. His brother-in-law, Lee Dau (Pat). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, 10 a.m. At Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens on Merle Hay Road in Urbandale, IA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the New Hope Lutheran Church or to the .
