LINCOLN - James J. Hibbs, Sr. passed away at his home on Saturday, December 26, 2015. He was 81.

He was born in Philadelphia on July 10, 1934, son of the late James O. and Amber Hibbs.

Mr. Hibbs was a proud veteran of the United States Army.

Jim was employed as a gasket winder for Flexatallic in Bellmawr, New Jersey for many years before accepting a position as a driver for a trucking company located in Franklinville, New Jersey, from where he retired in 2000.

He loved to bowl and was a member of a league at the Milford Bowling Lanes.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Marie Hibbs, a brother, William Putnick, and a sister, Mary Costello.

He is survived by two sons, James J. Hibbs, Jr. and his wife Machelle of Wyandotte, OK, and Barry D. Hibbs of Millsboro; a daughter, Cindy M. Hibbs of Newfield, NJ; a brother, Madison Hibbs and his wife Fran of Blackwood, NJ; a brother-in-law, George Sperbeck and his wife Esther of Southampton, NJ; and five grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford, where friends may call after 10:30 a.m.

Burial with military honors will follow the services at 1:00 p.m. at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105-1942.
