Charles R. Oakley, 77, of Monticello, passed away at 11:56 p.m., Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at the Kirby Medical Center, Monticello.

Charlie was born on October 28, 1938 in Monticello the son of C. Morton and Dorothy I. (Primmer) Oakley. He married Janet D. Wileaver on October 29, 1960 in Monticello.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Janet Oakley of Monticello; daughter, Kelli Wright of Monticello; and grandchildren, Kyle Wright of Colorado Springs, CO, Chelsi (Beau) Thomas and Clay Wright both of Monticello.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers. Charlie retired as the Body Shop Manager from Bill Abbott, Inc. and was a part-time farmer.

Charlie served in the U.S. Army and enjoyed restoring his ’57 Chevy. A private family graveside service will be held with Rev. Kurtis Bueltmann officiating.

Interment will be held in Monticello Township Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the National Neimann-Pick Disease Foundation P.O. Box 310 Fort Atkinson, WI 53538.
