Blessed is the man who endures trials, because when he passes the test he will receive the crown of life that He has promised to those who love Him.
-James 1:12

Clyde Jackson, Sr. was one of ten children born to Julia Jackson. All preceded him in death. He received his formal education in the Houston County Public School System. He was employed as a Master Mechanic for Norfolk Southern Railroad, retiring in 1987 after 43 years of service without missing a day of work. He was honored with a golden plaque and rhinestone belt buckle for his work ethic and years of dedication.

Upon his retirement from the railroad, he rose early each morning and spent his awakening hours parked in his favorite locations throughout his native Houston County, Georgia watching the trains pass through. He enjoyed listening to music and dancing to "The Blues". He also loved watching the CBS Early Morning and Evening News and of course Judge Mathis. The Kathleen/ Bonaire communites knew him and loved him.

Clyde Jackson departed this world to a place of eternal rest at age 95 with his family at his bedside. He will be remembered as a loving father, brother, uncle, cousin, father-in-law and friend. He also was preceded in death by his life partner Adel Bryant; one daughter, Corrine Gooley; and two stepsons, James and Johny Bryant.

Survivors are, three daughters, Clara Carpenter, Gail Caldwell (Clarence) and Geraldine Jackson; son, Clyde Jackson Jr. (Traci); two stepdaughters,Lillie Mae Simpson (Amos) and Annie Allen (Henry); two stepsons, Lonnie Bryant and Andrew Bryant (Diania); a host of grandchildren, neices, relavtives and friends.

The Fallen Limb

A limb has fallen from the family tree. I keep hearing a voice that says, "Grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter, the song. The good life I lived while I was strong. Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you. Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through.
My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest. Remembering all, how I truly was blessed. Continue traditions, no matter how small. Go on with your life, don't worry about falls. I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin. Until the day comes we're together again.
