Laura Frances Scott, 94, Raymore, MO, passed away January 7, 2016 at Foxwood Springs in Raymore, MO. Laura Frances was born November 26, 1921 in Kansas City, MO, daughter of August Cleveland Seals and Amy Henrietta (Janssens) Seals. She attended Kansas City public schools, graduated from Westport High School and attended Kansas City University. Laura married Kenneth "Scotty" Francis Scott on June 16, 1946 upon his return from the Army Air Corps. Survivors in addition to her husband of 69 years, include two sons Kenneth F. Scott, Jr., M.D. (Susan) of Clinton, MO and A. Richard Scott (Jackie) of Kansas City; four grandchildren Molly Odum (Paul), Overland Park, KS, Jamy Dolde (Jason), Kansas City, Christopher Scott (Allison), Raymore, MO and Becky Fleming, Kansas City; two sister-in-laws Opal Driffill, Greenfield, IN and Mary Margaret Alexander, Shelbyville, IN; and four great grandchildren Jacob Scott, Zachary Scott and Isaac Scott, Raymore, MO and Ansley Odum, Overland Park, KS. She worked in a number of business offices operating a comptometer including U.S. Department of Agriculture, Safeway Stores, RISS trucking, and the Kansas City Airport. She moved with her family to Clinton, MO in June, 1958 and returned to the Kansas City area in October, 1966, living in Kansas City North for many years before moving to Raymore, MO. She was a member of North Cross United Methodist Church for many years and then transferred to St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Raymore, MO. She and her husband owned property in Spearfish Canyon, South Dakota, for many years and spent many summers there. Laura was a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church, Raymore, MO; Adella Chapter, Order of Eastern Star for over 50 years and former Matron; White Shrine of Jerusalem for over 50 years; Daughters of the American Revolution, and The National Society Colonial Dame XVIII Century. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 9, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 1111 W. Foxwood Dr., Raymore, MO 64083, with visitation one hour beforehand at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
