Myra Lee (Vaughan) Evans went home to be with her Lord on Sunday evening, January 3, 2016. She was born on December 13, 1947 in Prague, Oklahoma to Troy Therman and Lillian VandaLee Vaughan and was the oldest of five children. She met Raymond Y. Evans Sr. at the May Avenue Church of the Nazarene and was later married in October 1966. She loved to bake and cook homemade meals and made some of the best made from scratch pies around. If she knew you had a favorite food or dessert, she would surprise you with it out of the blue, as she was always thinking of others before herself. Gardening was another delight for her and she for sure gained that skill from her dad as he was one of the best gardeners around. Caring for others came natural for her. She showed years of loving kindness and affection most when caring for her dad and mom until they passed away. She would have it no other way and sacrificed her time and very life being there for those she loved. For many years she was her mom's prayer partner and grew in her faith in Jesus. Spending time with her grandkids over the years also gave her great joy. She treasured those times and made many memories with them. She was preceded in death by her parents Troy and Lillian Vaughan and one son-in-law Jim Sanders. She is survived by her daughter Carol Knight and husband Rick of Harrah, OK; daughter Christina Sanders of Oklahoma City; son Raymond Evans Jr. and wife Brandy of McLoud, OK; seven grandchildren: Heath Knight, Nichole Gregory and husband Adrian, Shelby Emmert, Kara Sanders, Zac Sanders and wife Cara, Kandice Reddit and husband Kyle, and Devin Evans; great granddaughters Jordyn Gregory, Riley Myers, Madison and Jordan Devine and Makenzie Lane; sisters Mary Keesee, Linda Vaughan, Opal Snively and husband Tim, and brother John Vaughan, as well as many other family and friends. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 8, 2016, at the Harrah Church of the Nazarene with burial following at Rossville Cemetery in Rossville, OK.
