Audrey Genetha Mitchell, 50, of Waverly passed away Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015, at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick following a lengthy illness.

She was born on Nov. 28, 1965, to the late Virginia Mae Fisher-Mitchell and Arthur James Mitchell.

Audrey was educated in the public school system of Camden County where she graduated in the class of 1984. After graduating from high school, Audrey attended Brunswick Junior College and graduated from Valdosta State College in 1989 with a business administration degree.

She was a member of Rising Daughter Church where she served as church secretary and remained there until she became a member of Southeast Community Church, approximately four years ago.

Audrey was employed with GNC health store as a clerk, Belks department store in St. Marys as a sales clerk and her most recent employer, Camden County Board of Commissioners, where she worked as a benefits coordinator for the past 15-plus years.

Audrey was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Fisher-Mitchell; her sister, Kathy A. Mitchell; her maternal grandfather, Clarence Fisher; and her paternal grandparents, Carl and Beatrice Mitchell.

Those left to cherish her memories are her only loving daughter, Briana Gadson of Waverly; her loving father, Arthur James Mitchell Sr. of College Park; two sisters, Rachel Taylor of Atlanta and Sonya (Floyd) Walker of Waverly; one brother, Arthur Mitchell Jr. of Atlanta; an aunt, Louie Mitchell of Woodbine; an uncle, Charles (Ruby) Mitchell of Folkston; her grandmother, Essie Mae Fisher of Waverly; a godchild, Tyler Kirkland; two godsisters, Iris Cash and Sylvia Scott; seven nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, at Allison Memorial Chapel, which is located at 10141 Colerain Road in St. Marys.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, at Southeast Community Church, 790 May Creek Drive in Kingsland. Interment will be in Benton Cemetery in Waverly.

Final arrangements entrusted to Royal Funeral Home Inc. of Jesup.
