Final rites for Ray Strawn, 81, who died Jan. 22nd in a Wichita Falls hospital were held Satur­day, Jan. 25th at 2 p.m. in Totten-Day Funeral Chapel with Rev. Johnny Irish, pastor of First United Methodist Church and Rev. Tommy Smith, former pas­tor of Hillside Baptist Church, officiating. Interment was in New Electra Cemetery under direction of Totten-Day Funeral Home.

He was born Nov. 23, 1904 in Greenville, Texas, son of the late Philander and Mary McClendon Strawn. He lived in Electra most of his life and was a retired oil field lease foreman.

He married Johnnye Borders Oct. 12, 1927 in Nocona, Texas. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: his wife, Johnnye Strawn of Electra; a son, Richard Strawn of Dangerfield; two daughters, Ernestine Harbin of Houston and Janyth Lemon of Electra; a sister, Nina Polk of Fort Arthur; 8 grandchildren.

Pallbearers were W.A. McClure, Jr., Tommy Lawson, Larry Eckert, Robert Lemon, Mark McHugh and Jack Borders._
