She was 69 years old, born in Ripley, Mississippi on June 28, 1946.
She was a long-time employee of Insurance Liquidators, and a long-standing member of Jefferson Baptist Church. She dedicated her time and love to her family, but was also a talented seamstress and an avid cook, including authoring a family cookbook
She is survived by her husband; two step-children, Michael Grant Day, M.D., and his wife, Melissa Phillips Day, and Karen Day White, J.D.; three step-grandchildren, Samuel Grant Day, Benjamin Grant Day, and Amelia Rose Day; four nieces, Dedrah Littleton, and her husband Eddie, Tonia Cardoza, and her husband Dave, Betty Young, and Renee Welsh; one nephew, Jimmy Welsh; and a great-niece, Amy Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilford C. Wright and Sarah Lenora Dickerson Smith; two sisters, Janice Wilson and Shirley Welsh; one brother, Bobby Wright; a niece, Dawn Lumley; and a nephew, Steve Wright.
Visitation will be at Jefferson Baptist Church on Friday, January 8th, from 9 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m., to be conducted by the Reverend Tommy French. Entombment in Greenoaks Memorial Park Mausoleum will follow the service.
Pallbearers are Samuel Day, Eddie Littleton, John Vance, Phil Phillips, Roger Johnson, and Ken Nolan.
Honorable pallbearers are Fred Gwin, Stan Howard, and Charles Meisenheimer.
