Mrs. Anna Christine Ponder Phillips, 98 of Dayton, OH, died there Friday, January 1, 2016. She was born in Rockcastle County, KY on September 7, 1917 the daughter of Benjamin Lester and Cordea Mullins Ponder. She was a farmer and homemaker and was a member of the Mt. Olive Free Will Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Bradley Phillips and wife Pam of Centerville, OH, and Gary Phillips and wife Gail of Dayton, OH; two daughters, Shirley Miller of New Castle, IN, and Ann Ward and husband Doug of Dayton, OH; a sister, Anna Lee McDaniel of Mill Valley, CA; 16 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren. Many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two husbands, William Earl Phillips and Herman Alcorn; two daughters, Juanita Rose and Lois Reams; two sons, Denny Phillips and Fritz Phillips; a grandson, Johnnie Phillips; and a great granddaughter, Jessie Elliot.
