Melanie Nicole Daniels was born March 14, 1994, in Kansas City, Kansas to Larry and Sherdine Daniels. Melanie professed a hope in Christ at the age of 12. She was a member of Strangers Rest Baptist Church. She was a secretary for the Sunday school and a member of the Youth choir. Melanie was a junior at Piper High School where she was a member of the volleyball team, Diversity Club, Key Club, PGAA and Student Council. She loved to read and was a straight “A” student. Melanie Nicole had a gentle soul. Her smile radiated a sweet nature. Melanie was kind, sincere and had an angelic aura about her that captivated the hearts of both the young and old. Her mannerisms reflected a quiet regal beauty that is rare. Her smile will forever be etched in our hearts. She was an excellent piano player. She volunteered at the Church meal site and many other places in Kansas City, Kansas. Melanie departed this life August 21, 2010. She will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Cecil and Lillian Carroll. She leaves to cherish her memory: her parents Larry and Sherdine Daniels, her brother, Nate, her paternal grandparents, JoAnna Zewalk of Kansas City, KS and Raymond Daniels of Kansas City, MO, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, classmates and her dog Rocky. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 28, at 11:00 a.m. at Strangers Rest Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmie Banks officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Mrs. J.W. Jones Memorial Chapel.
