Denise Germaine Richardson was born Oct. 28, 1926, in Honin Lille France. She passed Dec. 18, 2015, of complications due to Alzheimer's. Denise moved to Paris when she was three years old. She was 13 years old when World War II changed the life she knew forever. She had a brother and sister that were interned in concentration camps and survived. Before the war ended, she met her future husband, U.S. Captain J.H. Richardson. She was married after the war ended in Paris, 1945, and came to spend the rest of her life in America. She worked at Jantzen Knitting Mills for 10 years and then the Postal Service for 20 years. She leaves behind her daughter, Michelle Pixley; son-in-law, Douglas Kelly Towe; son, and daughter-in-law, Marshall and Julie Richardson; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren in the U.S. Preceding her in death, her husband, Captain J.H. Rich- ardson; son, Michael Richardson; stepson, Jay Richardson; and granddaughter, Angela Pixley. In France, she leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins. Denise loved visiting her family in France and went frequently before her illness. She was a very giving person, either knitting, sewing or buying clothes for her grandchildren. Denise was always sending boxes of clothes and money to her family in France. She loved gardening and was always anxious for spring to arrive. In her day, Denise was a very energetic person. We all love and miss her very much! A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, Jan. 8, 2016, at her daughter's home, where Denise spent the last 17 years of her life. Arrangements by Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes.
