Aged 25 yrs. Died of wounds received at the battle of Antietam.
Private, Co. G. 125 Pa. Infantry.

Hollidaysburg Democratic Standard, 4 March 1963:

"THE HONORED DEAD- The bodies of James Gibboney and James Riddle, sons of Daniel Gibboney of Duncansville and J.B. Riddle of Frankstown township, and members of Company G, 125th Regiment, who fell at the battle of Antietam, were brought home last Thursday. The remains of young Gibboney were interred in the cemetery at Duncansville and those of young Riddle in the Presbyterian cemetery, this place, and were followed to their last resting place by an unusually large concourse of weeping relatives and sympathising friends. Peace be to their honored ashes."
