on April 6, 2004 at the Sunset Home, Concordia, Kansas at the
age of 89 years, 10 months and 27 days.
Mabel received her education in the public schools and graduated from Norway High
School in 1932. She was united in marriage to Harold R. Hammer on May 14, 1935 and to this union six children were born, Maurice, Loren, Gene, Gary,
Don, Virginia. Mabel was a homemaker and lived in the
Norway and Scandia communities.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Charles and Maxie Barleen, one grandson, Lance Hammer, two brothers, Ralph Barleen, George Barleen
She is survived by five sons, and one daughter, their spouses;
14 Grandchildren, 22 GreatGrandchildren, one brother, Lloyd Barleen of Apache
Junction, Arizona, one sister, Hazel Morrow of Topeka, Kansas, Nieces and nephews,
other relatives and many friends.
Interment was in the Norway Cemetery, Norway, Kansas.
