OBIT - MULLINS, KATHERINE JOSEY CARR

Roanoke Times, The (VA) - March 31, 2008

Katherine Josey Carr Mullins, 71, of Roanoke, died Friday, March 28, 2008 after a lifetime of service to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was predeceased by her first husband, M. C. Carr Jr.; her mother, Ethel M. Josey; father, John Lee Josey; brothers, J. D. Josey, George Josey, Ralph Josey, Troy Josey and Dave Josey; and grand-dog, Angel Jenny. She is survived by her loving husband, Joe Mullins; daughter, Janet Gogerty and husband, Gary Gogerty; daughter, Debbie Meacham and husband, Jeff Meacham; grandson, Noah Meacham; stepdaughter, Anne Marie Furrow and husband, Skip; stepgrandsons, Joel Furrow and Matthew Furrow; brother, Mack Josey; brother, Tommy Josey and wife, Bessie; sister, Barbara Turner and husband, Johnny; her sister and kindred spirit, Vivian Josey; sisters-in-law, Mary Miller and Elizabeth Clark; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was retired from Medeco Security Locks. A member of Shenandoah Baptist Church, her life was a witness to everyone who knew her of God's grace and provision. Though she suffered in many ways throughout her life, her strength, courage and her complete reliance on her Savior was an inspiration to anyone she met. Her family would like to express their thanks and undying gratitude to the staff of SICU and 10 Mountain at CRMH. Though everyone was kind and gave excellent, heartfelt care, we especially thank Bonna Keeley, RN, for her help, prayers and guidance, Hollee, for her extra loving care on Kathy's last night and to Rita, who is simply an angel sent from God. We also have a debt of gratitude we could never express to Christopher Pile, MD. Only in Heaven will he understand what a gift from God he is. He has our undying love and thanks. These health care professionals became friends, helped us through a nightmare, and in the process showed us glimpses of Heaven. Funeral services will be on Monday, March 31, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Oakey's North Chapel, with a one hour visitation begining at 10 a.m., prior to the service. Pastor Robert Alderman and the Rev. Albin Crutchfield will officiate. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. All my debts CancelledSatans threats CancelledSinss effects CancelledFor the ransom was paidNow I Stand WorthyThrough the Lamb WorthyI am free...Praise His Holy NameGloria Gaither
