Allan married Jacquelyn Packett in 1954. They are the parents of Allana "Lani", Kelly & Allan, Jr. They were divorced in 1975.

Allan married Karen (Hoffman) Foster in 1976. They were later divorced.

Allan Edward Brown, 80, of Pawnee City, Nebraska passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at the Pawnee County Hospital.

He was born on November 7, 1935 to Clifford and Hazel (Thiemann) Brown in Pawnee City, Nebraska.

He was raised on a farm south of Pawnee City and with the exception of about 2 years when he was a small child and the family moved to Grand Island. He was a life long resident of Pawnee County.

He attended Greendale country school through the 8th grade and then graduated from Pawnee City High School with the class of 1953.

He married Jacquelyn Packett in 1954 and to this union 3 children were born: Allana "Lani", Kelly and Allan, Jr. They were divorced in 1975.

He was married to Karen Hoffman Foster in 1976 and they were later divorced.

During his early working years he farmed and then in 1961 moved to Pawnee City and went to work for Frank Brinkmann at the Texaco filling station. He later worked for the State Roads Department. In the early 70's he purchased the filling station, known then as Brown Oil and then built the "Little Brown Jug". After selling the "Jug" Allan went to work for Terry Kerl at the same filling station and in 1998 went to work for Pawnee County running the motor grader and retiring in 2010.

He was a member of the Pleasant Valley EUB Church and attended First Christian Church (DOC) as long as his health permitted.

He was a member of the Pawnee City Historical Society, which he volunteered until his health no longer permitted this activity.

He was also a member of the local AARP chapter and the Pawnee City Athletic Boosters.

His horses were his love and he enjoyed raising registered quarter horses, training and riding in parades. He spent many hours watching the 4-H kids and "offering" advice.

He loved all sports, the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Kansas City Royals and the Pawnee City High Schools teams were his greatest love. He enjoyed our local kids and was one of their biggest fans, attending all activities as long as possible. He took real pride in his local school and community and was always proud to say he was from Pawnee City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Allan E. Brown., Jr., grandson Cael Pollard, brother, James Brown and brother-in-law, Ivan Kimes.

He is survived by his life partner, Karen Harlow, daughters, Allana "Lani" Little and husband Richard of Falls City, NE, Kelly Carpenter and husband Marlin of Falls City, NE, step son-John Brown, step daughters, Anne Brown-Pollard, Lisa Brown, Karen's daughter-Debra Bitzer and husband Dennis, daughter-in-law, Sue Brown-Honnor and husband Bryan, brother, Rex Brown and wife Doris, sisters, Betty Kimes, Barbara Kotalik, sister-in-law, Ardis Brown, grandchildren: Leah Carpenter & friend Ben Symonds, Jill (Jake) Bartek, Garth Brown and Fiance' Devin Salvo, Heath Brown, Lily, Rose, Jack and Caeden Brown, Emeline Pollard, Logan and Hannah Ellis, Darren (Tamara) Bitzer, Derek (Alyssa) Bitzer, Nathen Bitzer, great grandchildren, Haddie Bartek, Briar Bitzer and another due in February, uncle, Ross (Mary Alice) Thiemann, many nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends.

Services 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 8, 2016 at the First Christian Church/First United Presbyterian Church, Pawnee City, Nebraska. Officiating Reverend Duane Westing.

Visitation on Thursday, January 7, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska, with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m.

Interment at the Pawnee City Cemetery, Pawnee City, Nebraska.
