GASTON, Ind. John Willard Linn, age 81, of Gaston, Indiana, died Monday, January 4, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family. Born May 17, 1934, in Gaston, Indiana, to George Franklin and Anna Catherine Hannan Linn, John was a life-long resident of Delaware County. He was a member of American Legion Post 387 in Gaston and a member and former deacon of Prairie Grove Church. John was a past member and Past Master of Eaton Lodge No. 606, and then was a member of Anthony Lodge No. 171, F. & A.M. He was a 32nd degree member of the Indianapolis Valley of Scottish Rite. John drove a truck for Marsh Supermarkets and retired from Ruan Trucking in 1995. He was past president of the Precision Printing Golf League and was an avid supporter of the Delaware County Relay for Life. John enjoyed spending his summers at Chapman Lake. He loved golfing, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Karen Sue Wagner Linn, to whom he was married on December 26, 1974; children, Kenny (Kim) Linn, Taffi Thompson, Scott (Lynn) Shipley, Lisa Eubanks, and Stephen Shipley; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; sister, Jean Brumfield; sister-in-law, Georgia Linn; daughter-in-law, Cindy Linn; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ketta Martin; son, Jeff Linn; parents; grandson Scott D. Shipley; and brother, Pete Linn. Visitation for John Willard Linn will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 7, 2016, at Prairie Grove Church, 16775 N. CR 775 W., Gaston, Indiana, with a masonic service beginning at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 8, 2016, at Prairie Grove Church with Pastor Joe Blalock officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Thompson Cemetery, Gaston, Indiana.
