Wallace E. “Wally” Cox, 78, of Richmond, MO went to be with his Lord on Monday, January 4, 2016. Wally was born on October 20, 1937 in Richmond to Everett and Mabel Francis (Alexander) Cox. He married Sharon Sue Minnick of Richmond on December 26, 1958. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors include 3 sons and 3 daughters-in-law, Steven Ray and Shannon Cox of Richmond, Billy Don and Shelly Cox of Richmond and Mark Everett and Fran Cox of Richmond; two sisters, Irma Brown of Richmond and Shirley Elkins of Richmond; 11 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren also survive. Wally worked for Ford Motor Company for 31 years before retiring in 1999. He was a member of the U.A.W. Union Local #249. He was a member of the Richmond First Baptist Church. Wally was a lifelong Richmond resident. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Richmond First Baptist Church Sound System. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Richmond First Baptist Church. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 6, 2016 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery.
