David R. "Randy" Abbott, age 59, of Elwood, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at his residence. Randy was born on April 3, 1956, in Elwood to Ora Jack Abbott and Mary (Parry) Creamer. He married Wanda (House) Abbott on May 14, 1976. Randy proudly served his country serving in the US Army National Guard. Randy always worked either in construction or in a factory, his last job was working security at ELSA. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping and fishing. He also enjoyed shooting pool and was an avid Nascar fan. Randy loved to spend time with his family and spoil his grandchildren.
Randy is survived by his loving Wife, of 40 years, Wanda (House) Abbott, Daughter, Jaime Abbott & (Darrell Stansberry), Son, David Abbott II, Mother in law, Anna Bell Groover, Sisters, Brenda (Bob) Beeman, Ella (Bill) Shannon, and Angela Bodie, Grandchildren, Savannah & Brooklynn Stansberry, Zach, Skylee, and Logan Abbott, long time friend, Brian Baugher all of Elwood. Several nieces & nephews.
Randy was preceded in death by his Father, Ora Jack Abbott, Mother, Mary Creamer, Step Father, Fred Creamer, Brothers, Jack & Doug Abbott, Sister, Joyce Abbott.

Funeral service January 8, 2016, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, with Pastor Bill Hunt officiating. Burial Elwood Cemetery with full military honors provided by the US Army National Guard and the Elwood VFW American Honor Guard Unit.
