Bartonville – Rita M. Austin, 71, of Bartonville, formerly of Monica, passed away at 10:35 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at her residence.
Rita was born December 1, 1944, in Princeville, to Dale and Lela Simpson Riggen. Surviving are her mother, Lela Snider; two sons, Chris Dillon and Timothy Kalb; one daughter, Valarie Marsh; four brothers; and two sisters. She was preceded in death by her father, and one brother.
Rita was a graduate of Princeville High School, and worked at L.R. Nelson, where she retired from.
Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2016, at Monica United Methodist Church. Rev. Les Funderberg will officiate.
