Nelda Faye Early Dorough was born March 2, 1937 in Chillicothe, TX and departed this mortal life on January 3, 2016. She was the oldest of 6 children of Nathan Juble Early and Lola Dell Thurman Early. She graduated from Borger, TX, High School in 1955. She was married to Aaron Gregory Dorough on October 22, 1955, and they were married for 60+ years. Nelda was an Army Wife for the 30 years of her husbands career, and like many Army Wives, was a volunteer in many community activities while raising her children while her husband served foreign tours. As her children grew up, she worked as a secretary, legal secretary, and paralegal. Nelda joined the Primitive Baptist Church in 1955, and remained a member until her death. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Nelda Phaye Dorough Cook (Al),2 sisters, Wanda Lee Dale Early Kleinebreil (Richard) and Elizabeth Ann Early May (Ray) and 1 brother, Nathan Frank Early (Mary Jo). She is survived by her husband Col Aaron Gregory Dorough (Ret), 1 daughter Terry Drucilla Dorough Fogleson (Pat), 4 sons, Aaron Gregory Dorough II (Carla), Robert Lee Dorough (Diana), Jon Rhett Dorough, Jason Damian Dorough (Tara). Granddaughter Heather Diane Dorough Morgan (Ryan), Grandsons: William Thomas Cook, Christopher Allen Cook (Ashley), Nicholas Alfred Cook (Michelle), Peter Bryan Cook (Emily), Michael Aaron Fogleson, Aaron Gregory Dorough III, Matthew Robert Dorough (Ariana), Benjamin Lee Dorough, Kevin Tyler Dorough, Joshua Aaron Dorough, and Timothy Isaac Dorough. Two great grandsons, Aiden Christopher Cook, Daniel Ryan Morgan; 2 great granddaughters, Allie Carynne Cook and Katherine Elizabeth Cook. The inscription "Butter" on her stone refers to her grandchildren, who all called her familiarly by the name Butter.
