Milton-- Clarence C. Lamphere Sr., 74, died Monday, June 28, 1999, at Green Mountain Nursing Home in Colchester following a long struggle with Parkinson Disease. Mr. Lamphere was born in Milton on Feb. 17, 1925, the son of Clayton and Edith (Wood) Lamphere. He was married to Constance (Scribner) Lamphere who predeceased him on Nov. 22, 1991. Clarence was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed going to Maine every year with his family and friends. He enjoyed being in the marsh where he trapped for many years. He was a great Dad and Gramp and had a laugh that no one could describe. He enjoyed life to the fullest. Clarence is survived by his three children and their spouses, Clarence Jr. and Linda of Milton, Jackie and Rusty Alger of Milton, and Rick and June Lamphere of Fairfield, by his grandchildren Teena, Rusty Jr., and Travis Alger, James, Sue, Brianna, Shelley and Tyler Lamphere and Emily and Derrick Smith, and by several great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Amy Lamphere, on March 6, 1985. He is also survived by his sisters, Georgette Hutchins, Virginia Arnold, Remona Yergeau, Marguerita Lafromboise, Pauline Bascomb, Luella Aube, and his brother Robert Lamphere. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 1, 1999, at 10 a.m. in the Minor Funeral Home, located on Rt 7 in Milton. Burial will follow in the West Milton Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 in the Minor Funeral Home.
