Teresa Marie (Zeier) Marshall passed from this life to the waiting arms of her husband, Carlos, on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, at St. Patrick Hospital, Missoula.

Teresa was born in Corvallis on Sept. 15, 1930, to Frances (Strub) and Edwin Zeier. She graduated from Anaconda High in 1948 and met her soul-mate, Carlos Marshall. They were married on July 23, 1949. Together they had four children. Teresa worked for Helena Industries at Montana State Hospital and later for Montana Vocational Rehabilitation Services as a counselor helping people with disabilities return to meaningful employment. She retired in 1989, and spent her life volunteering and helping those in need. She received countless awards, including being named one of the state’s Outstanding Senior Citizens of the Year in 2003. Teresa truly had a heart of gold. She will be greatly missed by all. “To the moon and back, Teresa!”

Survivors include her children, Ronald, Gary (Cindy), Dale, and Carla (Ernie Huot); six granddaughters, Katie Huot, Stephanie (Beau) Young, Regi Marshall, Amber Brenton, Sara Marshall, and Ryen Marshall; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Thelma Ternes, Ernie Zeier (Bev), Pat Zeier (Button), Eddie Zeier (Val); sister-in-law, Femme Zeier; numerous nieces and nephews; and her dear friend, Shirley Wooster. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson; siblings, Richard Zeier, Donald Zeier, and Helen Zeier; in-laws, Delores Marshall, Patricia Stone, and Chuck Ternes.

Visitation starts at 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, at the KT Riddle Funeral Home, followed by vigil service at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass begins at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Memorials: Anaconda Food Bank or donor’s choice.
