Stephen Douglas Hunnicutt, age 79, of Bostic passed away at his home on January 4, 2016.

He was a native of Spindale, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents Jonah and Lucille Hunnicutt. He was a life long member of Spencer Baptist Church. He enjoyed a 55 year career in the retail automotive business including ownership of Hunnicutt Ford in Forest City for 30 years.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Patsy Fagan Hunnicutt; his son, Todd Hunnicutt and his wife, Maria, of Bostic; and beloved grandson, Cade. He is also survived by special nieces and nephews.

Doug was known to be a devout Christian who enjoyed the automotive business, bird hunting and raising cattle. He was hard-working and dedicated to his family.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 6 at Crowe's Mortuary. The service to celebrate his life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Spencer Baptist Church with Dr. Bruce Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.
