Thelma Josephine Neely Scarce, 92, of Danville, died Jan. 2, 2016 from an automobile accident. Mrs. Scarce was born on April 24, 1923 in Danville, VA, daughter of Robert Burchett Neely and Mable Ella Jones Neely. She was a cafeteria worker for the Pittsylvania County School System. Thelma was a member of Schoolfield Pentecostal Holiness Church.
She married the late Harold Curtis Scarce who died on March 31, 1988. She was predeceased by a daughter, Brenda Diane Kirk. Survivors include, son, Rev. Michael Pressley (Sarah); daughters, Renee Layne (Tim) and Cynthia Astin (Thomas Yeatts); sister, Lorraine Parham; nine grandchildren.
Interment will in Danville Memorial Gardens.
