Morley had two children from his previous marriage to Harriet Elizabeth Vanderwater (Hattie). The children were John Adelbert Shibley born in 1898, and Mabel Kathleen Shibley born in 1892.
According to the 1921 Census, H. Morley Shibley aged 50, his wife Alberta aged 40, and his son from his first marriage John aged 21, along with four lodgers, were living on Durham Road, in Hanover, Ontario. Morley was employed as a manager.
At some point, Bertha and Morley moved to British Columbia, Canada. At the time of her death, Bertha was residing at 1356 Comox Street, Vancouver, B.C. Bertha died at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver. The cause of death was listed on the death register as "acute myocardial infarct along with a fractured left hip and ischemic ulcers of legs. She was a widow at the time of her death. Bertha had no children.
