Bonnie Ellen Creel Sutton was born March 19, 1924, at Wright City, and went to be with Jesus on Oct. 24, 2004, at her home in Broken Bow.
She was surrounded by her husband of 59 years, Luther Willard, and her children, Barbara and Jerry Russell, Pueblo, Colo., and Beverly and Bill Rackley, Oklahoma City.
Thanks to Royal Crest Hospice and Michelle, Mom was able to spend her last weeks at home, surrounded by love, and died peacefully in her sleep.
Mom ministered as a pastor's wife for many years and enjoyed caring for people all of her life. She was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary and enjoyed being a foster parent and going to the Senior Citizens Nutrition Center.
She loved gardening, fishing, reading, singing, and playing Rummy and other games with her family. She also enjoyed canning, quilting and crocheting. She liked animals as long as they were outside.
She is also survived by her brothers, Leroy and Juanita Creel, Lakewood, Ore., Ray and Virginia Creel, Guthrie, and Hal and Fay Creel, Kingsland, Texas; and her sisters, Eldora Jennings, Guthrie, and Fayon Chitwood, Norman. She also has numerous nieces and nephews.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Frances and Elic Creel; her brothers, Elic Jr., George and Chester; and a sister, Ona May.
Services were at 2 p.m. today, Oct. 26, 2004, at Brumley Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Bow. The Rev. William Rackley and the Rev. Phillip Snow officiated. Burial followed in Watson Cemetery, Oak Hill Community.
