Oberheide, age 94, beloved husband of the late Lillian, nee Settem; loving father of William (Suzanne) and Robert (Margery); dear grandfather of Jane (Stephen) Zutter, William (Rose Anne) Oberheide, Kathryn (Gregory) Lewis, Robert (Laura), Jason, Christian and Richard Oberheide; great-grandfather of Kathryn and Julia Zutter, Rachel and John Oberheide, Neil and Claire Lewis, Olivia Joy and Haley Oberheide; fond brother of Wilbur (the late Marian) and Christian (Jean) Oberheide. Leonard Oberheide lived in the Chicago area his entire life. He was president of Oberheide Coal and Oil Company, a family owned company that served the Chicago area for over 100 years. Mr. Oberheide served a term as president of the Coal Merchants Association. He served as a longtime board member of the Division Street YMCA of Chicago and the Niles Savings and Loan Bank, Niles, IL. Funeral service Friday, August 27, 10:30 a.m. at Ryan-Parke Funeral Home, 120 S. Northwest Hwy. (2 blks. S. of Touhy), Park Ridge. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery.
