Mary A. Newberry, 92, of Pittsburg, Kansas died at 9:04 p.m. Friday, Jan. 1, 2016 at Via Christi Hospital at Pittsburg, Kansas.
Mrs. Newberry was born April, 20, 1923 at Chavies, Alabama the daughter of Thomas Jackson and Flossie May Stephens Sanders.
Mary was a homemaker who was raised in Chavies, Alabama and moved to Kansas in 1950.
She married Clyde W. Newberry on Jan. 2, 1953 at Columbus, Kansas. Mr. Newberry preceded her in death Jan. 21, 2013.
Survivors include three daughters, Donna Wilson of Arma, JoAnn Murariu of Lakeland, Florida and Carla (Gary) Scholes of Girard, a son, David Newberry of Pittsburg, Kansas, two step-daughters, Kathy Majyor of Independence, Missouri and Jane Vaughters of Sugar Creeek, Missouri, a sister, Mary Ruth Faulker of Bridgeport, Alabama, a brother, Loyd Sanders of Scottsboro, Alabama, ten grandchildren, Melissa West, Scott, Wilson, Eric Wilson, Tammy Proctor, Jeremy Veach, Mary Fairchild, Jenna Rice, James Scholes, Shawna Meyer, and Brian Scholes, twenty-three great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clyde, a sister, and four brothers.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, 2016 at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma, Kansas with the Rev. Bob Cuthbertson officiating.
Burial will be at the Edgmand Cemetery near Columbus, Kansas.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Bedene Chapel where friends may call after 11 a.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.
