Frank E. "Rootin' Tootin'" Newton, Jr., age 59, of Oklahoma City, passed away December 31, 2015 after a hard-fought battle with end stage renal failure. He was born December 11, 1956 to Leola (Brown) and Frank Newton, Sr., of Lawton. He was a boxer in his younger years, starting in the sport at the Boys and Girls Club in Lawton at the age of 8. Frank had 140 amateur fights, and went on to achieve a professional record of 35 wins (26 by knockout), 4 losses and 2 draws. He was named the Texas Golden Gloves winner in 1974. Frank heard his country's call and served proudly in the United States Army. Later in life, Frank had a very successful career in automotive sales. He loved his family a lot and liked spending time watching OU and Dallas Cowboys football and NASCAR. Frank loved going to the races when he could. He was the most caring person and never ever met a stranger. Frank loved his animals, Bella, Chole and his little buddy, CJ. He enjoyed fishing and harassing people.
