Everall, (often misspelled Everal Everill, Everel or Everell) was born and raised in Salinas. His Father, Robert J., was from Illinois and his Mother, Anna D.(?), was from Sweden.

Everall had two bothers and sisters: Robert W., born in 1899; Clifton, born in 1907; Gladys, born in 1911 and Anna M., born in 1912.

Everall joined the Salinas Police Department in 1928 as a Traffic Officer. He was uniformed, armed and outfitted with a motorcycle that sported red lights and siren.

In those days, the Division of Motor Vehicles, pursuant to the Vehicle Act of 1923, was authorized to appoint inspectors and traffic officers to enforce the Act; these personnel were later spun off in 1947 into the Department of the California Highway Patrol!

He also worked patrol on foot and was eventually promoted through the ranks to Captain.He retired in 1945.

He married Anne L. Talley, and they had a son, Everall Leroy Adcock Jr.

He ran Cap's Salinas Club, a local restaurant & bar, frequented by those associated with the criminal justice system (The Good Guys).

He was active in the California Peace Officers Association (CPOA), which is still going strong to date.

He died in 1979.
