At Ft. Yuma, june 1862
In Tucson, AZ Sept. 1862 serving as a Wheelwright in the Quartermaster's Dept. from Jan. 1 to April 23, 1863. Left Tucson early in May and died on a march from Fort Bowie, Az to the Rio Grande...at Leightendorfer's Well on May 15, 1863, aged 26 years.
Buried at the site and his body was exhumed later. Remains shipped to the Presidio in California for reburial.
